TD3000 - Traffic Display
The TD3000 Traffic Display displays vessel traffic information received from radar and transponders together with geographical information retrieved from Electronic Charts. The operator can assign guard zones for targets (vessels), fixed objects such as aids to navigation or, to any selected location on the chart. The system has an advanced warning system, which is able to advise when any violation of the area occurs.

Operator Tasks
When the responsibility for a surveillance area is passed to an operator, the operator will protect objects of special attention (surveillance objects), by assigning safety areas (guard zones) to them. Any target that is either intruding, within, or leaving a guard area or violating survey criteria may generate a corresponding warning.

TD3000 Traffic Display is also generating warnings like speed violation, drifting buoy, vessel dragging anchor, TCPA/CPA between targets and other objects like markers, reference points, radars, fairway violation etc.

The VTS operator can create temporary objects for different purposes. These objects will be used as help to track vessels (points, nodes, routes etc.)

Charts
The TD3000 Traffic Display super-imposes the traffic situation on an electronic chart. Target information is transmitted from local radar stations and/or transponders to the TS3000 Target Server, which is processing the data for transmission over the Local Area Network (LAN) or Wide Area network (WAN) to the TD3000 Traffic Display. TD3000 organizes the information and displays it on the electronic chart..

The VTMS3000 allows the user to enable/disable chart layers such as platforms, wells, pipelines, traffic separation lines, special zones, etc. The Traffic Display Operator can individually switch on and off the chart layers for each workstation.

The VTMS3000 allows the users to define own geographic objects, group them to user layers and enable/disable user layers themselves. It is possible for a user to write and position text anywhere on the chart display using the User Layers. User Layers can be freely edited by the use of the Object Editor tool. The User Layers are under the control of the traffic operator.

Surveillance Warning System
A wide range of warnings are available to assist the traffic operator with the surveillance tasks. Flexible guard zones are available, both static and non-static. Objects exceeding the warning limits set by the traffic operator will have clearly distinguishable symbols on the screen.

The warnings can be monitored by the operator at all times using the Warning Bar on the bottom part of the screen.

The list of warnings on the warning bar depends on the configuration settings of the system. If the system will not use e.g. Speed Violation Warnings, they can be removed from the system and they will not be present in the screen or menus. This may reduce the amount of unnecessary information for the operator and will improve concentration.

Digital Radar Video Display System
The digital video is presented in real time synchronous with radar antenna rotation. TD3000 can present video from several radars simultaneously on the screen using color coding. The operator may display video from remote or local radars (several video streams with different resolutions and quality settings)

The system can also show the history of radar echos, which is also called “afterglow”. The operator can select the history depth in radar scans. E.g. selecting 60 scans will keep 60 consequential radar scans on the screen and reducing the intensity of the oldest radar scans gradually until they disappear.
